Tampaksiring is a palace located in Tampaksiring village, Tampaksiring sub district, Gianyar regency, Bali Province. This palace was built after Indonesia’s independence. The palace stands on the initiative of President Sukarno, who want to retreat away from the hustle of the city weather was suitable for the President and his family and state guests. This palace was built in stages, RM Soedarsono as the architect. Tampaksiring Palace complex consists of four main buildings covering an area of ​​1,200 m Wisma Merdeka and Wisma Yudhishthira of 2,000 m and Function Room  Wisma Merdeka and Wisma Yudhishthira is the first building that was built in 1957. The building was completed in 1963 with the establishment of the State house and Wisma Bima. The name of Tampaksiring itself derived from two words namely ” Tampak ” and “Siring” respectively in Balinese meaning palms and Italic. According to a legend recorded on palm leaves Usana Bali, the name is derived from the former footprints of a king named Maya denawa. A king who fled from the pursuit in the army which is sent by Batara Indra due to the nature of insolence that belongs to the King, to eliminate traces, he walked by tilting the soles of his feet, so that the forest in its path by walking and the trail of his feet was known as Tampaksiring. It can not be separated from the story above, in this area there is also a sacred springs ( Tirta Empul ) that supposedly created by Batara Indra as the successful bidder toxic water made ​​by the king Maya denawa which caused many deaths his pursuers after drinking water from the toxic spring water.

How to get there

From Ngurah Rai International Airport, you can travel for 58 minutes with 50.3 meter distance, through Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai and going through ubud by private vehicle or by renting a car.
